hello i really enjoyed reading your blog! as someone with one foot in the stem world, and the other in the arts, the divide always seem weird to me. there is definitely not a place i ever see more neurodivergent people in one place than a lacemaking convention :):):) also, i made a crayon for the clique! https://zabnikinthevoid.neocities.org/images/peksel/kredka.png it lives here, or now: https://zabnikinthevoid.neocities.org/linki

The laminate covers thing bothers me so much too. I feel like they curl really badly as well. Hope you are having a good day!

I really liked your blogpost on autism and STEM vs the humanities. The last paragraph about the binary people set up of the two is so true and something I was already thinking about while reading the post! Funnily enough I used to think I could only be a humanities person (probably influenced by being a woman in this society) but in recent years I've gotten really into entomology and also coding! There's so much to experience in this world and why would you limit yourself for literally no reason!!! Have a lovely day!

Hello! Read your STEM and autism post. It was interesting, I've never heard about neurodivergent people not being likely to engage in art... But it kinda reminded me, because you specifically said "arts and crafts" about how we divide arts and crafts. With art being for men and crafting is something for women to do in their free time (even though it might be the same exact technique). There are many neurodivergent and disabled people in the art and craft communities. I can kinda see how it could be further separated into art bring for neurotypicals and craft for the neurodivergent... Which is kinda weird. I do think that it is worth asking if X people struggle with A thing because it's helpful for making sure education is as accessible as it can be but it's definitely not something a random person should post on Facebook for no reason. And also. Judging creativity is very hard. You need to be very creative to do well in STEM and any other fields. Freeform crochet is different kind of creativity than figuring out a chemical mechanism leading to novel nonlinear optical crystals but it is both very creative. I suppose the question was more of "do they draw?" but even with picture related things, it's not just drawing, it's knowing how to read the art, how to present it and how to sell it. Museum curator might not know how to draw but they sure need to be creative to curate the art. So I think it's more of the environment the person grows up than what kind of struggle they have. But interesting for sure.
